Textile Conservation Qualifications & Resume - photos

Karen Angela Klingbiel, Leiterin des 2005 in Dresden gegründeten Ateliers für Textilkonservierung, arbeitete von 1994 bis 1998 am Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland Ohio, USA, nachdem sie ihre Ausbildung in der Abegg Stiftung in der Schweiz abgeschlossen hatte. Nach Abschluss ihrer Tätigkeit am Museum gründete und leitete sie die Firma "Textile Conservation & Consulting, Inc." in Madison, Ohio, USA (1998 to 2004).

Karen schloss die University of Michigan mit dem B.A. ab, bevor sie als Textilkonservatorin in der Abegg Stiftung in Riggisberg, Schweiz von 1991-1994, unter the Leitung von Dr. Mechtild Flury-Lemberg ausgebildet wurde. Neben ihrer konservatorischen Arbeit schloss Karen A. Klingbiel ein Zweitstudium in Chemie und Physik mit Phi Beta Kappa am Lakeland College in Mentor, Ohio ab. Für ihre außergewöhnlichen Leistungen erhielt sie 2003 einen Preis der American Chemical Society.

Karen A. Klingbiel hält Vorträge und organisiert Präsentationen über antike und historische Textilien und deren Konservierung.
